Kraak presents

THIS SATURDAY MARCH 17, 2012
at Scheld’apen
D’Herbouvillekaai 36, 2020 Antwerpen

VAMPIRE BLUES (uk)
BANANA HEAD (usa)
MATTHEW P. HOPKINS (aus)
BENJAMIN FRANKLIN (be)
DJ COOL BROCOLI (be)

Around this time the new album of the British duo Vampire Blues should come out on Blackest Rainbow. Again, they navigate with guitar and harmonium between mantric drones, old music and tune-in-drop-out-improvisations. Vampire Blues are holding up in the scene where amongst others Hunter Gracchus and Harappian Night Recordings are moving; on the border of free freak outs and melancholic nightmare music.

Banana Head is the lo-fi popproject of Zully Adler, labelmanager of the Goaty Tapes label. Brussels label Lexie Disques will soon release this man’s first 7”. This show will be this record’s release show in Antwerp.

Rare solo performance by Australian musician Matthew Hopkins now on extended visit to Ghent. Mostly known for his work with the groups Naked On The Vague (Siltbreeze, Sacred Bones), and Vincent Over The Sink (KYE, Goaty Tapes), Hopkins will present a small selection of new solo work. Consisting largely of feedback loops, prepared tapes, and devil voice, expect a caricature of ‘scary’ muzak.

Casio music explorer Benjamin Franklin delivered the very first Lexi 7” in 2008. Now he is supporting his new label mate Banana Head with a requested old school ‘pop’ set! Moving!!

+ DJ Cool Brocoli (be, old school hiphop)
